The Placement Test Set helps parents & teachers decide which level a student should begin with by evaluating skills across Levels 2 - 16.
- Test A (for Levels 2 - 4) evaluates addition and subtraction concepts, facts & word problems, mental addition strategies, counting backwards, zero & tens concepts, and counting by, adding & subtracting tens.
- Test B (for Levels 5 - 7) evaluates two-digit place value, two-digit addition with and without grouping (also called “carrying”), and two-digit subtraction with and without exchange (also called “regrouping” or “borrowing”).
- Test C (for Levels 8 - 10) evaluates multiplication concepts & facts from 2x2 to 9x9, multiplying by 1 & 0, division concepts, facts & remainders, and three-digit place value, addition & subtraction.
- Test D (for Levels 11 - 13) evaluates multi-digit multiplication & division, long division with remainders, thousands-through-billions place value & operations, decimal fractions & money operations, and metric measurement & conversions.
- Test E (for Levels 14 - 16) evaluates fraction concepts, multiplication & division, mixed, improper & equivalent fractions, fraction-decimal relationships & conversions, and ratios, proportions, percents, probability, graphs & statistics.
Available digitally, these tests can be taken on a tablet or printed pages to determine a starting level, so students can begin building key skills in just 20 minutes a day using a research-backed method trusted by parents & teachers for over 30 years.
